What’s your role at Town & Country Meats and what does a typical day look like?
A day in the life can vary, from operational planning across our five depots and managing staff to dealing with any issues that arise throughout the company. Generally, I’m on hand to deal with whatever comes my way.
I also manage a portfolio of customers, building relationships and supporting them on a daily basis.
How did you get into the meat industry and what do you enjoy most about your role?
Very simply, I needed a job, and Pickstock Telford had just moved to Telford from its site in Tamworth. I had an interview with the owner and started the following week.
I instantly fell in love with the wholesale side of the business and the fast-paced environment. No two days are the same, and I’ve enjoyed being part of the industry ever since.
What’s your favourite part of working as part of the Town & Country team?
I enjoy watching people join the company, embrace the ethos and develop into leaders within their field, whether that’s in sales, operations or management.
I also enjoy working as part of the sales team, discussing pricing and market forecasts, and contributing towards hitting our weekly, monthly and yearly targets.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Never expect anyone to do anything you wouldn’t be prepared to do yourself.
