What’s your role at Town & Country Meats and what does a typical day look like?
As Trading Director, my role is mainly focused on overseeing the commercial side of the business, making sure we’re buying, selling, pricing and managing our products effectively.
On a daily basis, this includes setting the direction for sales, purchasing, pricing and trading activity, as well as negotiating with suppliers and managing supplier relationships. I also monitor market trends and customer demand to help make decisions around pricing and stock.
Another important part of my role is managing commercial risks, whether that’s supplier issues, stock levels, currency movements or changes in the market. I also work closely with the CEO, CFO and wider management team on key commercial decisions and the overall direction of the business.
How did you get into the meat industry and what do you enjoy most about your role?
I started as a trainee and have worked my way up through the industry, gaining experience across different areas along the way.
What’s your favourite part of working as part of the Town & Country team?
The people and the team around me. I enjoy working together, facing the daily challenges and constantly looking for ways to improve the business.
What’s your favourite thing to do outside of work?
I enjoy all types of sport, but mainly football, cricket and golf. I’m also a keen gym-goer.
What’s one thing on your bucket list?
Visit Bora Bora.
What’s your favourite thing to do outside of work?

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
